What You Can Expect

Traditional orthodontic therapy involves placing fixed brackets at strategic points throughout your mouth. Almost every tooth, with a few exceptions, will have its own bracket. Then a thin archwire is held in place, applying moderate pressure to guide those teeth into the proper position. You'll need to see Dr. Kandimalla every six weeks for an adjustment.

If you decide to get braces, you'll be able to start treatment relatively quickly. For example, if you come to Innova Family Dental for an orthodontic consultation and then decide to begin treatment right away after reviewing your care plan, we can usually place your braces at the same appointment.

Braces are typically worn for about a year years, but because each patient is different, the length of time necessary will vary depending on the circumstances at hand.
