The Implant Procedure

Each step of the implant installation process is divided into phases. To ensure a pain-free and predictable experience, the installation is performed under local anesthesia. You'll need to wait about 2-3 months for the implant to fully integrate with the bone surrounding it. Then we'll expose the top of the implant to attach a small extension known as the abutment. Dr. Kandimalla will take an impression, which we’ll send to our lab to design the final fit of your permanent prosthesis. In the meantime, if the area is visible when you smile, we can arrange for a temporary restoration to wear over your abutment. We'll have you back for a final installation visit as soon as your permanent crown or bridge is ready to place.
